About Paintless Dent Repair
What is paintless dent repair (PDR)?
Paintless dent repair (PDR) is a technique for removing dents, door dings, hail damage, and minor creases from a vehicle’s body panels without sanding, body filler, or repainting. A trained technician uses specialized tools to massage the metal back to its original shape from behind the panel, preserving the factory paint finish.
How is PDR different from traditional dent repair?
Traditional dent repair involves sanding the damaged area, applying body filler, priming, and repainting — a process that takes days and can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. PDR takes hours, costs significantly less, preserves the original factory paint, and does not affect your vehicle’s resale value.
What types of dents can be fixed with PDR?
PDR works best on round dents like hail impacts and door dings, minor creases with no paint damage, and collision dents where the metal has not been stretched beyond repair. It is not suitable for dents with cracked or chipped paint, or damage where metal has been deeply creased.
How do I know if my dent can be repaired with PDR?
Text or email us a clear photo of the damage and we will assess it for free. Generally, if the paint is intact and the dent is round or smooth (not a sharp crease), PDR is a good candidate. We will always give you an honest assessment.
Can PDR fix dents with paint damage?
No — PDR requires the paint to be fully intact. If a dent has cracked, chipped, or peeling paint, it will need traditional body shop repair. We will always tell you honestly when PDR is and isn’t the right solution.
Cost & Pricing
How much does paintless dent repair cost in Las Vegas?
PDR in Las Vegas typically costs $75–$150 for small door dings, $150–$350 for larger dents, and $500–$3,000+ for hail damage depending on severity. Mobile service is included at no extra charge. See our full pricing guide.
Is paintless dent repair cheaper than a body shop?
Yes, PDR is usually 3–5× less expensive than a body shop. A body shop requires sanding, body filler, priming, and repainting; PDR takes a few hours and preserves the factory finish at a fraction of the cost.
What factors affect the cost of PDR?
The main factors are dent size, location on the vehicle (edges and body lines are harder to access), number of dents, paint condition, and vehicle type. Aluminum panels on newer luxury vehicles can require specialized techniques.
How long does it take to get a quote?
Send us a photo via the contact form or by text and we typically respond within 1–2 hours during business hours. For extensive hail damage, we may schedule a quick no-charge in-person assessment.
The PDR Process
How does paintless dent repair work?
A trained technician uses specialized metal rods and body picks to carefully massage dented metal back to its original shape from behind the panel. Glue-pull techniques are used where direct access isn’t possible. The factory paint finish is preserved throughout — no filler, sanding, or repainting.
How long does the process take?
Single door dings take 30–60 minutes. Larger dents and creases typically take 1–2 hours. Hail damage repairs take 4–8 hours depending on impact count. Most jobs are completed in a single mobile appointment.
Does PDR damage the paint?
No — when performed correctly, PDR does not damage the factory paint. The metal is massaged from behind; the painted surface is never touched directly. This is why PDR preserves your vehicle’s resale value better than any body shop method.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes — we stand behind every repair. If a dent we repaired returns or you’re not satisfied, contact us and we’ll make it right at no charge.
Insurance & Claims in Nevada
Does car insurance cover PDR in Nevada?
Yes — comprehensive auto insurance in Nevada typically covers hail damage and PDR-eligible collision damage. You’ll pay your deductible first. Many smaller repairs cost less than the deductible, so paying out-of-pocket is often the smarter move to protect your claims history.
Will a PDR claim raise my rates in Nevada?
A single comprehensive claim doesn’t always raise rates, but multiple claims may. For repairs under $500, paying out-of-pocket is usually the better call. We’ll give you an honest recommendation either way.
What’s the difference between comprehensive and collision for dents?
Comprehensive covers hail, weather, falling objects, and vandalism. Collision covers damage from hitting another vehicle or object. Both can apply to PDR-eligible damage depending on what caused the dent.
Do I have to use a specific shop for insurance claims in Nevada?
No — Nevada law gives you the right to choose your own repair shop. We work directly with all major carriers: State Farm, Allstate, GEICO, Progressive, and Farmers.

More Questions From Las Vegas Drivers
How do I avoid dent repair scams in Las Vegas?
Warning signs from local threads include unsolicited roadside offers, demands for upfront cash, body filler and being told something must dry. Real PDR uses no filler and no paint.
Why do two PDR quotes for the same dent differ?
Access, depth and location change the work. A very low quote may not include the time to reach the dent.
What is an access hole?
For dents with no tool access, a technician may make a small hole in the jamb or inner panel and plug it afterwards, hidden behind trim.
Should I file an insurance claim for a small dent?
Usually not. Compare the written estimate with your deductible; small repairs often cost less.
Can a bad PDR repair be fixed?
Sometimes, but it can cost more than doing it right first time.
Is PDR safe for my paint?
Yes, when paint is intact. Technicians say any paint damage usually comes from the original impact, not from the repair.
